New acronyms and phrases became part of our language as a result of Covid 19

Herd immunity, community spread, flatten the peak, squash the sombrero, lockdown, SAGE, furlough, second wave, N95, R rate, front line workers, Reduce the Spread, Protect the NHS, Key Workers, Social Distancing, Wash Your Hands – Happy Birthday………

The outbreak was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11th March, when an infectious disease is passing easily from person to person in many parts of the world at the same time.

The WHO has warned that the pandemic is a long way from being over and says people should be prepared for new outbreaks to build up quickly.
