If you are looking for a great trip out of Brighton I can highly recommend a boat trip from the Marina to visit the Rampion Wind Farm.
We did this on Friday on the boat Brighton Diver
Our super knowledgeable skipper was Paul. He gave us lots of insight on the project, it really is an amazing trip. It takes 20 mins to get out to the area, you get up really close to the turbines then you come back along the coast for a different perceptive of Brighton from the sea. The whole trip takes 3 hours.
When you get out to to the Wind Farm area you get a true sense of the sheer size of the turbines.
Each tower is 80m tall and weighs 200 tonnes topped off with three 55 metre blades.
The Rampion Offshore Wind Farm is the first one on the south coast.
It will generate green electricity to power 350,000 homes ie half of the homes in Sussex.
The area itself is 70 square kilometers with 116 wind turbines.

How interesting! One to add to my list when I’m next in Brighton.
